Due to concerns of high water levels and water flow rates impacting levees and properties along the Missouri River from mile markers 750 (Sioux City) through 498 (Rulo), the Coast Guard and Army Corp of Engineers are requesting all vessels to operate at the slowest speed necessary for safe navigation to avoid producing wake within this area.

Hornady announced that Team Hornady shooter, Doug Koenig has won the 2019 European Bianchi Cup, held last month in Germany. Koenig took first place using Hornady .38 Cal. 110gr. XTP bullets.

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. announced that Team Ruger Captain Doug Koenig took first place in the Open Division and first overall at the 2019 European Bianchi Cup Championship match. He had a final aggregate score of 1920-183 and was shooting his Ruger Custom Shop SR1911 built open competition pistol.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources has issued season limits for the 2019-2020 oyster harvesting season. Effective immediately, the 2019-20 season will begin October 1, 2019 with no commercial harvesting on Wednesdays, and temporary closures to wild harvesting in certain areas where there is a low abundance of oysters.
To help reduce the spread of rusty crayfish to other waterbodies in Iowa, licensed bait dealers can no longer harvest any crayfish species from Storm Lake. Crayfish collected for bait from Storm Lake for personal use can only be used in Storm Lake and cannot be transported live from the lake.

John Hoyer of Orono, Minnesota, weighed a three-day total of 67.73 pounds to win the National Walleye Tour Presented by Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops Championship event at Devils Lake, North Dakota, September 13.

Brendan Bayard, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, measured a combined, two-day limit of 121.75 inches to win the championship event for the 2019 IFA Kayak Fishing Tour on September 14 at Grand Isle, Louisiana.

Deer hunters who applied for a Vermont muzzleloader season antlerless deer permit by the August 14 deadline can now go to the Vermont Fish & Wildlife website (www.vtfishandwildlife.com) to see if they won a permit.
