Indiana: Learn transportation history at Spring Mill SP

Find out about Spring Mill State Park’s transportation past during “Rivers, Roads, and Rails,” a presentation from Indiana University professor emeritus David Nord, on Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. at the Lakeview Activity Center.

Nord will share historic maps and photographs, including the first accurate map of Indiana in 1817, detailed plat maps of Lawrence County in the 1870s, and early park maps from the 1930s. To set these historic maps and photos into context, current maps and photos will also be included.

There is no cost to attend the program but the entrance fee of $7 for in-state vehicles and $9 for out-of-state vehicles will be charged.

Spring Mill State Park (on.IN.gov/springmillsp) is at 3333 State Road 60 East, Mitchell, 47446.
