Fire N The Hole Broadheads has made a Broadhead which makes a massive 4 inch wound channel, and flies like a field point.
Accuracy is the number one question bowhunters have when they are introduced to a 4 inch broadhead we call Slang Blade. It is an understandable question when accuracy seems to be a concern for smaller span broadheads much less a 4 inch width. The key to the accuracy of the Slang Blade is in the sleekness of the design. In the closed shooting position the Slang Blade is a 7/8 inch broadhead which spins through the air for superb accuracy.
The Design: The Slang Blade is a design which is simple. Slang Blade is two blades which are small knife blades fastened to a ferrule the size of a field point. The blades are cut on contact, 50 thousands thick by 200 thousands wide, and weigh 34.5 grains. They are tough, strong, knife blades. The blades are a sharpened single bevel. The bevel is needed to form a cutting point over the ferrule when the blade are placed back to back. As the Slang Blade slabs into the animal the blades rotate up allowing the back to back bevel to form a cutting point over the ferrule.
The Bevel: The blades have a single bevel design for performance cutting through the animal. This bevel design adds in the accuracy of the broadhead. As the Slang Blade is fired towards the animal, air passes over the beveled edge. The beveled edges are opposite of each other causing the broadhead to spin as air passes over them. This gives the broadhead a spinning action like we see in bullets and spins with the helical of the vanes. This broadhead will fly accurate as far as the arrow flies.
The profile: The Slang blade has the sleekest profile of any mechanical broadhead. The closed shooting position is 7/8 inch wide. The blades are 100 thousandth total thickness. This gives the Slang Blades the smallest profile of any mechanical. Attach this to a ferrule which is the size of a field point and you have a broadhead that hits right on the pin.
