Silencer Central Partners with U.S. LawShield to Simplify NFA Trusts for Suppressor Buyers

Silencer Central, America's leader in silencer sales with delivered-to-your-door service, has partnered with U.S. LawShield to simplify the National Firearms Act (NFA) trust customers set up when they buy a suppressor. The new U.S. LawShield Trust features easier-to-read documents, self-service tools in the Silencer Central customer portal and an online course that explains how it all works.

Like Silencer Central's previous trust, the U.S. LawShield Trust is a revocable NFA firearm trust offered free of charge, but it changes how documents are structured, accessed and managed. Customers now submit only the first 10 pages of the trust to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Supplemental documents for co-trustees, beneficiaries and firearm assignments are kept separately and are not part of the ATF submission.

"Our customers shouldn't need a law degree to understand and update their own trust," said Brandon Maddox, founder and CEO of Silencer Central. "Working with U.S. LawShield, we cleaned up the documents, cut down what goes to the ATF and put everything in the customer portal where it's easy to find. Adding a co-trustee or a beneficiary is now a few clicks instead of a paperwork project."

"Responsible gun owners deserve to understand the legal tools that protect them and their families," said Kirk Evans, President of U.S. LawShield. "This trust gives Silencer Central customers clear, organized documents, and our online courses explain how to put them to work, who can possess an NFA item, how to add a co-trustee and how to plan for the next generation."

What's New in the U.S. LawShield Trust

Key features of the new trust include:

  • Self-service document management: Customers can access, download or email their trust and supplemental documents directly from their Silencer Central customer portal.
  • Auto-populated documents: Trust information fills into supplemental documents automatically, reducing manual entry and potential errors.
  • Easier co-trustee management: Adding co-trustees no longer means juggling separate trust documents.
  • Beneficiaries addendum: Customers can generate beneficiary documentation directly through the portal.
  • Assignments page: Customers can record Title I, or non-NFA, firearms in their trust records for estate and succession planning. The page is for documentation and planning only and does not replace federal, state or local transfer requirements.
  • Built-in education: Every trust includes access to a U.S. LawShield online course covering NFA firearms, firearm trusts, co-trustees, succession considerations and how to use the documents.

Why a Trust Still Matters

Suppressor buyers can register as individuals, but a trust offers advantages that matter to many owners:

  • Ship to My Home orders: A trust helps streamline Silencer Central's Ship to My Home orders, which deliver approved suppressors directly to the customer's door.
  • States with their own NFA rules: Several states regulate NFA items beyond federal requirements, and a trust gives owners a clear, documented ownership structure to help them navigate those rules.
  • Shared possession among family: Co-trustees can legally possess and use NFA items held in the trust, so a spouse or other eligible family member can use a suppressor without the purchaser present.

A trust also helps owners plan for what happens to their NFA items in the future. The new format makes that trust easier to set up and maintain over time.

The U.S. LawShield Trust is available now to Silencer Central customers who establish a trust as part of a suppressor purchase. To learn more, visit www.SilencerCentral.com/services/nfa-gun-trust.
