The Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) is notifying anyone planning a hunt or outdoor recreation in and around Prescott during the last weekend of October about a bike race that will have a large presence in the area at that time.
The Rough Rider is a three-day gravel bike race taking place Oct. 30 through Nov. 1, coinciding with the second weekend of the general deer hunt in Prescott-area units.
The race includes routes in the Camp Wood area within Game Management Units (GMUs) 17A and 17B on Friday, the Mt. Union area of the Bradshaw Mountains within GMU 20A on Saturday, and the Copper Basin/Skull Valley area within GMUs 20A and 17B on Sunday.
For more information and complete details on routes that may affect your hunt or other outdoor plans, visit the Rough Rider Race website.
AZGFD encourages hunters, cyclists and other recreationists to use extra caution and be aware of one another while sharing these areas.
Here are the planned routes for the race:

The Arizona Game and Fish Department receives no general fund tax dollars. The majority of funding to manage more than 800 native wildlife species comes from Arizona's hunters and anglers.
