GLASGOW – Come join Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks for “Montana Bat Night” on Friday, Oct. 30, at the FWP regional headquarters in Glasgow from 6-8 p.m.
October is Bat Month, Oct. 24-31 is Bat Week, and Oct. 30 is Montana Bat Night (at least in Glasgow)! Learn all about bats at this open house event hosted by FWP, as this fun, educational night will be full of bat-themed activities for the whole family. Different stations/activities will be set up to learn about all things bats: echolocation, building bat boxes, play “Migration Madness,” try your hand at “bat fact or fiction”, visit the “Bat Cave,” learn how to trap and evaluate bats in a mist net, make a bat mask, color bat pictures, and more!
Kids are welcome to wear costumes (though bat-themed costumes are encouraged). There will be some prizes, and all participants will leave with cool bat-themed swag! Hot chocolate, other beverages, and light snacks will be provided.
This is a drop-in event, so come anytime between 6 and 8 p.m., but to take in all the fun it will likely take around 45 minutes. All ages are welcome, but youth age 10 and under should be accompanied by an adult. Come join us at this great event to celebrate all things bats!
