Scheduled for Sept. 12 at the J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Family Ozark Highlands Nature Center in Springdale, Ark., the Cook Off brings together 40 teams competing for the title. In past years, award-winning chefs from around the nation have plated everything from squirrel tacos to pho to chicken fried squirrel to chili.
"The World Championship Squirrel Cook Off is a great event and a natural fit for airgunners who enjoy hunting," Scott Faldon, Umarex Airguns marketing manager, said. "We really enjoy talking to the hundreds of people there to try some of the unique dishes served up by the competition teams."
The event also hosts the World's Hottest Squirrel Eating Competition and the World Champion Squirrel Cleaning Competition.
