PHOENIX — The 2027 Spring Draw for turkey, javelina, bison, bear and raptor capture is just around the corner. To help get you ready, the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) has some tips to make the process go smoothly:
- Make sure you have a valid license—both at the time of application entry and on deadline day (Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026). Only a hunting license, or a combination hunt and fish license, is valid. Short-term licenses are not valid. Purchase a license online or at any AZGFD office statewide.
- Know your Customer ID. This is a must to submit an application. There are four ways to locate a Customer ID:
1. Log into your AZGFD portal account and click on "View Details" under "My AZGFD Dashboard."
2. Try the Customer ID Retrieval Tool.
3. Check your license. If you purchased it online, it will have your Customer ID.
4. Call AZGFD at 602-942-3000 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. - DownloadArizona E-Tag. Get this free app from either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and opt in to receive an electronic permit-tag in your AZGFD portal account (this is not an option selected through the draw). Arizona E-Tag provides real-time delivery of licenses and big game tags purchased or drawn after the app has been downloaded. The app also provides the ability to electronically tag a harvested animal and complete the hunter questionnaire.
- Plan topurchase a PointGuard product. Protect your bonus points! PointGuard and PointGuard Plus ensure that applicants can surrender their hunt permit-tag for any reason, and the accumulated bonus points that were expended to draw that hunt permit-tag will be reinstated.
- Sign up to receive a hunter questionnaire via text message. During your Draw application, keep an eye out for the option to enter your phone number to receive a hunter questionnaire via text message.
- Open an AZGFD portal account. Portal accounts are the only place where Draw results will be posted. Portal accounts are also a great place to track bonus points, see your application history and manage dependent accounts.
- Make sure your info is up-to-date.Log in to your portal account to check your bonus points, opt in for an electronic permit-tag (if you've downloaded Arizona E-Tag), or verify your mailing address if you prefer to receive a physical tag, should you be drawn.
If you need assistance, please call AZGFD at 602-942-3000 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Arizona Game and Fish Department receives no general fund tax dollars. The majority of funding to manage more than 800 native wildlife species comes from Arizona's hunters and anglers.
