Lodestar Technology is partnering with the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) during Gun Storage Check Week, Sept. 1–7, to encourage firearm owners to review their secure storage practices and take proactive steps to help prevent unauthorized access, accidents, theft and misuse.
As part of the national awareness campaign, Lodestar is providing an LNK9 Kit as the prize for the Gun Storage Check Week sweepstakes. Beginning Sept. 1, participants may enter through the official campaign website at the Gun Storage Safety Check Sweepstakes to engage with firearm safety and suicide prevention resources throughout the week.
The second annual September observance of Gun Storage Check Week coincides with National Suicide Prevention Month. NSSF established the campaign to encourage firearm owners to routinely evaluate how they store firearms when not in use and to reinforce its "Make Sure It's Secure" message. NSSF's national campaign also provides resources focused on secure storage, suicide prevention, and firearm safety.

The LNK9 is a user-authorized 9mm firearm featuring optional biometric fingerprint or PIN authentication incorporated directly into the firearm. The technology is designed to provide an additional safeguard against unauthorized access while complementing secure storage and safe handling practices. The LNK9 does not use GPS tracking, store biometric information in the cloud or provide third-party access to that information.

Additional entries can be earned by viewing firearm safety and suicide prevention videos after completing the entry form. The campaign also provides resources to help firearm owners evaluate secure storage options and learn more about suicide prevention.
