During the conference, CSAAA President Wes Winkel delivered a presentation addressing Canada's current firearms prohibitions and regulatory challenges. The presentation generated significant interest among attendees, who expressed enthusiasm for learning more about the Canadian market and exploring ways to support the Canadian industry.
The conference also provided an important opportunity for the CSAAA to highlight the impact that recent Canadian legislative and regulatory changes have had on the domestic firearms industry and its international partners. According to industry estimates, the Canadian gun industry has lost approximately 40% of its sales opportunities as a result of changes implemented over the past several years, directly affecting international manufacturers, distributors, and vendors that serve the Canadian market.
The CSAAA believes that increased international industry engagement and cooperation with organizations such as the NSSF will be critical in addressing these challenges. The association is seeking international membership and support and will be launching a call to international vendors and industry partners to become involved.
