Partnership brings location-specific regulation guidance to new hunters and the instructors who train them
The International Hunter Education Association–USA (IHEA-USA) is proud to announce Hunterizer as its newest industry partner, bringing together two organizations committed to preparing hunters to participate safely, legally, and responsibly in the outdoors.
Hunterizer is a mobile resource built around a question every hunter faces: what can I legally hunt here today? Rather than requiring a hunter to search through a full regulation booklet, the app delivers season dates, bag limits, shooting hours, weapon restrictions, and related guidance specific to the user's location.
Hunterizer currently provides state-specific coverage for 11 states, including California, Georgia, Idaho, Michigan, Montana, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin, with additional states in development.
The partnership reflects a shared belief that education does not end when a course does. Understanding regulations is among the most common barriers new hunters encounter between certification and their first day in the field, and clearer access to that information supports recruitment, retention, and reactivation across the hunting community. Through industry partnerships like this one, IHEA-USA works to strengthen the resources, programs, and support available to hunter education agencies, instructors, volunteers, and the communities they serve.
As part of the partnership, Hunterizer has established a dedicated program for hunter education instructors and is a supporter of the IHEA-USA EduTech Catalyst Fund.
"Hunter education gives someone the foundation to hunt safely and legally, but that first season on their own is where a lot of new hunters lose confidence," said Alex Baer, Executive Director of IHEA-USA. "Hunterizer helps close that gap, and we're proud to welcome them to the IHEA-USA community alongside the instructors and agencies doing this work every day."
Through the partnership, Hunterizer joins IHEA-USA's growing network of industry organizations investing in the people and programs that help ensure hunting and shooting sports traditions continue safely and responsibly for future generations.
