Gearfire Launches Cloud-Based POS Built for Specialty Outdoor Retailers

Independent firearms, archery, and outdoor sports retailers get same-day setup, built-in compliance, and real-time inventory in one cloud-based system

Gearfire has launched Gearfire Point of Sale (GPOS), a cloud-based point-of-sale system built specifically for specialty outdoor retailers. GPOS enables serious retail capability, including fast checkout, accurate inventory, and industry-aware workflows, without the complexity of enterprise systems.

The GPOS launch comes as the independent retail channel faces consolidation pressure and rising compliance demands, giving retailers a way to modernize their operations without rebuilding every system from the ground up.

The system is built for how shooting sports retailers actually operate. For firearm dealers, serialized inventory, gunsmithing work orders, and a direct FastBound integration keep transactions accurate and bound books audit-ready. For archery, fishing, and other outdoor retailers, GPOS runs work orders and specialty transactions so every counter operates on one system. Because GPOS is cloud-based, retailers can run the counter and check on the business from any device, with no server to install or maintain.

With GPOS, a retailer scans a UPC at receiving and pulls complete product data from Gearfire's Master Product Catalog of more than 150,000 items, with descriptions, attributes, and category placement already in place. Cataloging that once took hours now takes seconds.

"Retailers lose real time every week to manual product entry and to systems that were never built to talk to each other," said Angie Larson, Product Owner at Gearfire. "GPOS removes that work. Scan an item and it's already in the system, correctly categorized and compliant, ready to sell in-store and online."

GPOS connects directly to Gearfire eCommerce, keeping in-store and online inventory aligned in real time, and gives retailers clear visibility into sales, products, and performance as they grow.

"If you can scan a barcode, you can run GPOS," said JW Shultz, CEO at Gearfire. "That's what this solution was built for. Designed for specialty outdoor retailers, it handles the compliance, work orders, and specialty transactions your counter depends on, all from one cloud-based system. Be up and selling on Day One."

Gearfire Point of Sale is available now, starting at $149 per month, with guided setup and training. Schedule a demo at gogearfire.com.
