South Carolina Waterfowl Association Announces Rather Outdoors Fishing Clinic

The South Carolina Waterfowl Association (SCWA) is excited to announce the launch of its all-new Rather Outdoors Fishing Clinic, a parent-child outdoor experience designed to introduce and strengthen fishing skills while creating lasting family memories. The event will take place October 16–17, 2026, at the SCWA Wildlife Education Center in Pinewood, South Carolina.

Open to youth ages 8–16 and a participating parent or guardian, the Rather Outdoors Fishing Clinic provides a unique opportunity for families to spend quality time together while learning from experienced anglers in a fun, hands-on environment.

Participants will enjoy professional fishing instruction, product giveaways from ZEBCO and event partners, awards and prizes, and plenty of time on the water developing fishing techniques and outdoor skills. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet legendary professional angler Hank Parker, who will make a special guest appearance during the event.

"SCWA's core mission is passing on our outdoor heritage to the next generation," said SCWA Chief Operating Officer Lou Tocci. "The Rather Outdoors Fishing Clinic gives parents and children the opportunity to unplug, spend meaningful time together, and develop a lifelong appreciation for fishing, conservation, and the outdoors."

The two-day clinic is part of SCWA's growing Outdoor Heritage Events program, which provides immersive outdoor experiences for individuals and families throughout the year. Through educational programming and hands-on activities, SCWA continues to inspire future conservationists while strengthening South Carolina's outdoor traditions.
