A special Henry rifle will be featured in the live auction at the Dallas Safari Club's Summer Expo Gala on Saturday, July 25, to support the efforts of Retrieving Freedom, Inc. (RFI), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to change lives through the training and placement of service dogs for veterans with disabilities and children with autism. The limited-edition Henry Big Boy rifle is stamped with "RFI" on each side along with engravings that reflect the RFI mission. The rifle package also includes a tour of Retrieving Freedom's beautiful facility in Missouri, as well as a private guided turkey hunt, and fishing. The RFI package will only be available at the event, not in the online auction.
The DSC and DSCF are part of a growing coalition of outdoor industry companies and organizations who are committed to honoring those who have served this country and children who need special assistance. These companies support RFI through its Business Alliance program. Other program partners include Boyt Harness Company, Brownell's, Delta Waterfowl, Diamond Pet Foods, Federal, Hornady, Hodgdon, Purina, Realtree, Ruff Land Kennels, and Starline Brass.
Russell Stacy, Chief Executive Officer of Dallas Safari Club said, "Retrieving Freedom's mission aligns incredibly well with the mission of DSC Foundation. We are proud to partner with Retrieving Freedom to drive awareness of both organizations and the important work they do each day."
RFI provides professionally trained service dogs at no cost to clients. Each dog undergoes an average of two years of training before being matched with a recipient. These dogs help veterans mitigate physical challenges as well as PTSD. Likewise, children with autism benefit from RFI dogs' ability to calm them, provide companionship, and ensure improved safety.
"We are so grateful the DSC and its Foundation are committed to helping RFI improve the lives of our veterans, and the children and families we serve," said Brandon Butler, CEO of Retrieving Freedom. "Each new partner in our Business Alliance program means more dogs can be placed with veterans and children in need."
