Partial Closure at Grey Bear Fishing Access Site Beginning March 30

Site improvements will limit access to boat ramp, parking area

Access to the boat ramp and parking area at Grey Bear Fishing Access Site (FAS) on the Yellowstone River will be restricted due to a construction project beginning March 30. Project updates will be provided on regional Facebook pages and online at: myfwp.mt.gov/fwpPub/allRestrictions.

The project will include development of a secondary overflow parking area and walking trail to connect the new parking area to the boat ramp, improvements to the existing parking area and fencing, and installation of new signs and gates. FWP anticipates all work will be completed by May 21.

The campground will remain open, but visitors should anticipate heavy equipment and truck traffic at the FAS during construction.

Watercraft take-out at this site will not be allowed during construction. Watercraft launching may still be allowed during construction, depending on watercraft type. To request access to launch at Grey Bear FAS during construction, please call recreation manager Sean Flynn at 406-431-6112.
