MILES CITY – FWP will host a paddlefish-snagging workshop, designed for beginners, June 6 and 7 in Miles City. This two-day class will cover the ins and out of paddlefish biology, snagging, picking the best tag option, selecting gear and, hopefully, handling paddlefish. The class is catch-and-release only.
Participants need to purchase a Yellowstone River (yellow tag) paddlefish license and a conservation license to participate in snagging during the second day of class. Those who hold a different colored tag and those who harvest a paddlefish with a yellow tag prior to class will not be able to participate in snagging during day two.
You can purchase these at your local FWP office, a License Ambassador location or online any time before the class.
The class is from 3 to 5:30 p.m. on June 6, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 7. FWP will provide gear to use for snagging, or you can bring your own equipment.
The class is open to anyone 18 years of age and older. Registration opens May 16 at 10 a.m. Go to www.register-ed.com/events/view/243426.
