Versailles and Nashville were named Trail Towns by the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) in its inaugural year bestowing the honor. The designation recognizes places that have made exceptional commitments to developing, stewarding, and celebrating trail systems that strengthen community life.
"Indiana is a national leader in outdoor recreation and in trails of all kinds — including hiking, biking, horse, and water trails," said Governor Mike Braun. "We welcome Hoosiers and visitors alike to experience Indiana's nationally recognized mountain biking trails and enjoy exploring the natural beauty our state has to offer."
Versailles is home to Versailles State Park, which has more than 10 mountain biking trails covering 29 miles. Nashville is home to Brown County State Park, which has 17 mountain biking trails covering 42 miles. Both parks offer beginner, intermediate, and advance level trails which attract a wide range of bikers.

Off-road bikers riding on designated Indiana State Park mountain bike trails rated as above beginner level should possess an annual or daily off-road cycling permit. Permits can be purchased at the property office or online. Biking on property roadways, riding on paved bicycle paths and in other authorized riding areas do not require a permit.
