Magpul expands its lever-action hand guard lineup to fit all Marlin® lever guns – including those manufactured by Ruger® and Remington® – with the introduction of a proprietary clamp system retroactively added to the Enhanced Lever Gun (ELG) M-LOK Hand Guard. The new clamp system allows the ELG Hand Guard to fit not only 1895 models, but also 1894 and 336 models.
The new system includes inserts and spacers to accommodate the magazine tubes of the different models of the Marlin 1895-, 1894-, or 336-pattern lever-action rifles. The ELG Hand Guard now fits all Marlin lever actions with a forearm end cap, requiring only the removal of the original OEM or other forearm end cap. Clamps come in three types: a pre-installed variant for the 1895, a A type, and a B type, depending on the rifle model and chambering.
Rifle models that now accept the ELG Hand guard include:
- 1895 model:
- 45-70 Govt-Preinstalled Clamp
- 1894 model:
- .44 Rem Mag./.44 Special, .45 Colt- "A" clamp
- .357 Mag./.38 Special, 10mm Auto-"B" clamp
- 336 model:
- .30-30 WIN.-"A" clamp
At a foot long, the ELG handguard features an integrated hand stop, as well as six (6) M-LOK slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions for mounting accessories to make the most out of a classic lever-action rig. If a shooter wants the adaptability of the M-LOK system but wants to keep the firearm's clean look while improving purchase on the gun, the ELG Hand Guard is compatible with both Type 1 and Type 2 Rail Covers.
Available in the classic Magpul colors of black, FDE, and ODG, the new updated ELG featuring the proprietary clamp fitment system is now at local retailers and online. Check out the updated ELG fitments for yourself at the 2026 NRA Annual Meetings at the Magpul booth (booth #2443). To keep up with all Magpul's new products, check out Magpul.com.

About Magpul:
Magpul was founded in 1999 with the concept of developing an easy-to-use product to solve the handling and speed problems associated with handling rifle magazines under stress. The company name comes from this original product, the Magpul. This simple innovation—and the mindset of problem-solving through better design, materials, and user experience—led to others that redefined the experience customers had with their firearms. More than two decades later, Magpul has grown significantly, but we still follow the same mission and processes, focusing on innovation, simplicity, and efficiency. Our product lines now include hundreds of firearms accessories, along with other experience-enhancing gear, and all have been designed to professional-use standards. We now make 400+ unique products with hundreds of variants, including magazines, stocks, slings, sights, grips, bipods, organization and storage solutions and a lot more dependable, hard-use gear.
