PHOENIX — Are you interested in learning about lead-free hunting ammunition? The Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) will host a Lead-Free Ammunition Demonstration in conjunction with the North American Lead-Free Partnership (NALP) on Saturday, April 25 at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility (BASF).
The demonstration will feature subject matter experts presenting information about the biological and ecological impacts of lead-based ammunition on scavenging wildlife and the environment. Experts will also discuss the science of firearm ballistics and performance, with NALP providing a ballistics demonstration after the discussion.
A shade structure and bleacher-style seating will be available, with restrooms located nearby. AZGFD will provide foam hearing protection. Participants should bring water and snacks and may bring personal camp chairs and hearing protection, if desired.
What: Lead-free Ammunition Demonstration
When: Saturday, April 25 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Where: The Ben Avery Shooting Facility (Meet at the Rifle 2 range, directly west of the main public shooting range).
