The Gulf Council will host an in-person meeting of its Ad Hoc Red Snapper and Grouper-Tilefish IFQ Advisory Panel on Tuesday, April 21 from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, EST. The meeting will be held at the Council Office located at 4107 West Spruce Street, Suite 200, Tampa, Florida 33607. The meeting will be broadcast via webinar and is open to the public.
The Ad Hoc Grouper-Tilefish IFQ Advisory Panel was formed to advise the Council as it works on modifying the Individual Fishing Quota Programs.
The Panel will evaluate and provide recommendations on proposed Reef Fish Amendment 63 which considers creating a pilot program to test a commercial red grouper quota pool. The Panel will then review requirements for participation in the red snapper and grouper/tilefish individual fishing quota (IFQ) programs considered in Reef Fish Amendment 59A: IFQ Permit Requirements.
Public comment will be taken in-person and via webinar before the meeting adjourns.
The full agenda and meeting materials will be posted on our Advisory Panel Meetings webpage when they are available.
