Field Feedback and Platform Compatibility Driving KDG's Next Phase of Optic Mount Development

Seymour, CT — With the second half of 2026 approaching, Kinetic Development Group is offering additional insight into the factors guiding its ongoing optic mount development efforts.

Since the introduction of the SideLok series, which serves as KDG's flagship optic mount platform, the company has remained focused on refining its approach to mounting solutions through continuous feedback from dealers, professional users, and experienced shooters.

Those conversations have highlighted the growing diversity of modern rifle configurations and optic setups. As shooters increasingly tailor their rifles for specific applications, mounting solutions must adapt while maintaining the durability and repeatability expected from premium components.

"The modern rifle ecosystem is more diverse than ever," said Chris Bardugone, Director of Sales and Marketing at KDG. "Shooters are running different optics, different heights, and different configurations depending on their mission or application. Our goal is to support those needs without compromising strength or reliability."

KDG confirms that development work is continuing internally on a potential addition to its optic mount lineup. While details remain limited, the company indicates that the project has progressed beyond the early conceptual stage and is now focused on refining practical implementation.

"We want to make sure anything we introduce into the optic mount category brings real value to the end user," Bardugone said. "Our goal is always to improve capability without adding unnecessary complexity."

Further updates are expected as development milestones continue to be reached.
