Outdoor Life Features Rob Keck's Groundbreaking Canadian Wild Turkey Hunt

In partnership with TrueTimber, Bass Pro Shops and Winchester Ammunition, Outdoor Life released "Canada: The New Frontier of Wild Turkey Hunting with Rob Keck." The feature article chronicles Keck setting out to complete the first ever Canadian Wild Turkey Super Slam, accompanied by a film created in collaboration with the Murray Road Agency and Copeland Creative.

In Canada, there are five provinces open to turkey hunting for nonresidents: Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Quebec and New Brunswick. Until now, a nonresident has never legally harvested a wild turkey in all five provinces. Newly recognized by the Canadian Wild Turkey Federation as the Canadian Wild Turkey Super Slam, Keck set out to harvest a wild turkey in these Canadian provinces as a nonresident. Outdoor Life joined Keck to capture this journey, documenting another chapter in a legacy that has helped shape modern turkey hunting.

As former National Wild Turkey Federation CEO and Bass Pro Shops conservation and hunting ambassador, Keck is a deeply committed outdoorsman and impactful figure in conservation. Keck is widely known for being the first hunter to ever complete the U.S. Wild Turkey Super Slam, which includes harvesting a wild turkey in all 49 states with a huntable turkey population. Additionally, Keck has taken wild turkeys in Mexico, Guatemala and New Zealand.

"Hunting the five Canadian provinces was far more than a quest to take a wild turkey in each. It was a fulfillment of a conservation dream, with myself having played a small role in the restoration and introduction efforts of the bird in Canada years earlier," said Keck. "To document on film this great story in the beauty of the North Country with local hunters who share the same passion as myself will open the opportunities of a new frontier of turkey hunting for so many others for years to come."

Presented by Outdoor Life and in partnership with TrueTimber, Bass Pro Shops and Winchester Ammunition, "Canada: The New Frontier of Wild Turkey Hunting with Rob Keck" underscores the significance of conservation. Through intentional introduction and restoration along with management, wild turkey populations have expanded across Canada into areas where the species was never expected to inhabit. Keck's achievement celebrates that success, while pointing towards the future of continued conservation and opportunities for turkey hunters across North America.
