
The Gulf Council will convene a virtual meeting of its Shrimp Advisory Panel on March 9, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM EST.
The meeting will begin with a presentation on shrimp related Council Actions that have occurred since the last Shrimp Advisory Panel meeting. The Advisory Panel will then receive an update on when the most recent shrimp stock assessment will be used for management and receive recommendations from the Council's Scientific and Statistical Committee on the stock assessment. The Advisory Panel will hear updates on shrimp prices and landings and review the 2025 Texas Closure in order to make a recommendation for 2026. Finally, the Advisory Panel will receive an update on Congressional funding for vessel position data collection in the Gulf shrimp industry.
Public comment will be held before the meeting adjourns.
