Foys Bend Property Near Kalispell Open to Limited Hunting Through Drawing

Starting March 1, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is accepting applications for limited hunting opportunities at the Foys Bend Fisheries Conservation Area (FCA) for the 2026 spring and fall seasons.

Foys Bend FCA is a 245-acre property managed by FWP and located in the lower Flathead Valley off Steel Bridge Road south of Kalispell.

Permission is required to hunt the property and is issued on a limited basis due to the size of the acreage. The lottery system aims to offer equal opportunity and better manage access to Foys Bend FCA, which is open to limited hunting of all species during upland game bird season, archery season, general hunting season, and migratory bird season.

This property is also one of the sites where FWP releases pheasants each fall through the Roosters for Recruitment Program.

How to Apply

Applications can be downloaded online and submitted:

  • In person: FWP Region 1 Office, 490 N. Meridian Rd., Kalispell, MT 59901
  • Mail: Same address as above
  • Email: Send completed applications to fwprg12@mt.gov

Any dates not awarded through the drawings will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis, no more than seven days in advance. Hunters may reserve these dates only after the drawing period has passed.
