Combined Hunter, Bow Ed Field Day in Forsyth

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will offer a combined Hunter and Bowhunter Education field day for online students in Forsyth on Saturday, March 7. This means that people can sign up for a field day in either Hunter Education or Bowhunter Education, or they can become certified in both. The courses will both be offered between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Forsyth Pronghorn Archery Range.

Youths ages 12-17 who want to hunt or bowhunt must complete Hunter or Bowhunter Education either in person or online, and then register for and complete a field day for online students. To register for a field day for online students, you must provide proof that you have completed the in-person or online course.

Upon registering for a field day for online students, you must print out a field day qualifier certificate and bring it to the field day.

Students should dress for the weather and for hunting conditions, as the field day is held outside. Inert firearms are available for carrying during the course. Absolutely no live ammunition is allowed. Bows can be brought for carrying purposes, but no broadheads are allowed.

Forsyth Pronghorn Archery Range is located 1 ½ miles west of Forsyth on Highway 10. For questions, contact Orly Anderson at 406-351-1618 or Doug Roberts at 406-351-3472.
