Sportsmen's Alliance Sponsors POMA Basecamp at SHOT Show, Jan. 21

Meet up highlighted by networking opportunities, industry speakers

On Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 4 p.m. in room Delfino 4001AB in the Venetian, the Sportsmen's Alliance will sponsor the Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA) Basecamp Meet-Up. The event is free and open to POMA members and all SHOT Show media attendees.

"The Sportsmen's Alliance is dedicated to protecting our way of life, and a large part of that is keeping the outdoor media apprised of the legislative and legal attacks we're facing, important research and other industry insights," said Rob Sexton, senior vice president of the Sportsmen's Alliance. "Bringing all outdoor media together at SHOT Show only makes sense and we're proud to be a part of it."

The POMA Basecamp series is designed to bring outdoor media together to gather, align and grow while also creating meaningful and enjoyable networking opportunities for media professionals. No registration is necessary to attend this POMA Meet Up. Non-members are invited to attend and learn more about the industry and media opportunities. The event will include brief updates sponsors, complimentary beer, door prizes and time for networking.

This year's speakers are all sponsors of the event and include:

Rob Sexton, Senior Vice President, Sportsmen's Alliance

Will discuss the key legislative and legal battles facing the industry and how the Sportsmen's Alliance is countering those attacks daily.

Justin Morrissey, Director, Social Media, NSSF – The Firearm Trade Association

Will give an overview on SHOT Show's impact, and NSSF resources and research available to media professionals.

Tony Schoonen, CEO, Boone and Crockett Club

Will disclose the results of five years of research providing the most comprehensive review of domestic wildlife poaching in U.S. history.

Kevin Reese, Senior Media Relations Specialist, Pulsar

Will share information about Pulsar and tout the benefits of a POMA membership. Reese is the immediate past president of POMA.
