Wyoming: Phipps named new Game and Fish fiscal chief

CHEYENNE - Greg Phipps was recently selected as the new fiscal chief of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. Phipps brings over 25 years of experience in leadership, budgets and systems management from the Wyoming Army National Guard. Phipps began with Game and Fish in February.

“I'm looking forward to serving the mission of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and supporting the outdoor opportunities afforded by such a great state,” Phipps said.

While in the Wyoming Army National Guard, Phipps served as director of military personnel, director of logistics, brigade commander, and director of joint operations.  He has extensive experience with operational planning, policy development, process improvements, budget development and oversight, and personnel management. Phipps holds a bachelor's degree in composite social science and a master's degree in strategic studies. He graduated from the U.S. Army War college in 2014. Phipps retired as an active guard reservist from the Wyoming Army National Guard  in 2017 as a Colonel.

“Greg brings incredible leadership to this position, and we are excited to have his talents in this role with Game and Fish,” said Scott Talbott, Game Fish director.

The Game and Fish fiscal division oversees all hunting and fishing licenses sales and draws as well as financial dealings for the department. Phipps replaces Jean Cole who retired in March.
