Truex Jr. and Newman to Pilot Bass Pro/Cabela’s Racecars with Patriotic Salutes at Daytona

Drivers of Sportsmen’s Racing Team honoring USO as NASCAR makes second 2018 lap through Daytona for Independence Day weekend showdown

DAYTONA, Fla. – Bass Pro Shops, primary co-sponsor of Martin Truex Jr.’s No. 78 Toyota Camry, will pay tribute to the USO (United Service Organizations) with a special patriotic paint scheme for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, July 7. The stars and stripes-themed paint scheme is donated by noted conservationist and Bass Pro Shops founder/CEO Johnny Morris.

In addition, the No. 31 Bass Pro Shops/Cabela’s Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 driven by Ryan Newman will sport a USO decal as a nod to the service organization. The No. 31 car will feature both iconic outdoor brands on the hood—the fourth time this season the brands have been featured together since Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s joined forces last September to establish North America’s premier outdoor and conservation company.

Bass Pro Shops has long supported the efforts of the USO, its largest and longest-standing customer donation partnership, empowering customers to donate and providing funds that deliver USO2GO kits which include the comforts of home to service members while defending our country.

Reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion Truex, who ranks fourth in overall driver points and third in playoff standings, has been consistently strong the past seven races with two wins and six top five finishes. He is coming off a fourth-place finish at Chicagoland Speedway.

Ryan Newman will make his 602nd Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Saturday when the Series competes at Daytona lnternational Speedway. Newman is the 2002 Sunoco Rookie of the Year who has 18 career wins, including the 2008 Daytona 500 and the 2013 Brickyard 400.
