DSC Offers Onsite Media Registration, Opportunity to Meet New Executive Director at 2018 Convention

DALLAS --  Media members interested in starting the new year right by attending the 2018 DSC Convention can register in the pressroom to receive a press pass to the show.

One of the world's fastest-growing outdoor conventions and expos, the 2018 DSC Convention, with the theme Legacy, will return to Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center and Omni Hotel Dallas in Downtown Dallas Jan 4-7, 2018.

To accommodate the increasing media interest in the event, DSC is catering to the sporting press with a convenient pressroom outfitted with charging stations, plenty of quiet space to conduct interviews and a beverage service.

Pressroom hours will run from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 4-6 and from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Jan. 7. Upon arrival at the convention center, media members can simply follow the signs to the pressroom to register for badges.

Media members will also have the opportunity to meet the new DSC Executive Director Corey Mason in the pressroom at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4.

The family friendly 2018 DSC Expo is open to the public and will fill a record 800,000 square feet with 1,000 exhibitors and 1,800 booths featuring outfitted hunts, guns, gear and much more. The Zeiss Stage will host outdoor celebrities telling tales from hunt camp, and law enforcement officers who are the boots on the ground in Operation Game Thief.

Singer/songwriter Kylie Rae Harris, a Wylie, Texas native, will entertain the crowd with her brand of Americana and country music as well.

Make plans to watch respected hunter and award-winning author Craig Boddington receive the Weatherby Foundation International Hunting and Conservation Award. The event will be held at the Omni Hotel on Wednesday, Jan. 3. Cocktails and the silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner and live auction will begin at 7 p.m.

The Conklin Award, created to recognize a superb hunter and stalwart conservationist in memory of James E. Conklin, will be presented to Alexander Egorov at the Omni Hotel Ballroom on Thursday, Jan. 4 from 6 to 10 p.m.
