NC Wildlife Resources Commission Mission Statement:
To conserve North Carolina's wildlife resources and their habitats and provide programs and opportunities that allow hunters, anglers, boaters and other outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy wildlife-associated recreation.

If so, the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission's Enforcement Division is now accepting applications for Wildlife Enforcement Officers for the 2018 NC Wildlife Basic Law Enforcement School Training. Employees will have the opportunity to be a part of the state regulatory agency which is responsible for the enforcement of fishing, hunting, trapping and boating laws within an assigned work area of North Carolina as well as patrol fields, forests, and inland waters in patrol vehicles, boats and on foot, enforcing applicable state and federals laws. Work assignments may also include considerable public contact with sportsmen and youth organizations by conducting talks and programs about wildlife and also, explaining regulations for civic and public groups.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
Employee must have the ability to successfully complete the following skills upon completion of the wildlife training school:
• Working knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations relating to the protection and management of game and fish, and of boating, and of NC game and fish species, their habits and natural requirements.
• General knowledge of and skill in the use of firearms and hunting and fishing equipment.
• Ability to enforce laws impartially and justly
• Ability to operate outboard motor boats, automobiles, and police radio system.
• Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with the public and other employees.
• Ability to keep routine records and write standard reports.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency. Ability to be certified as a law enforcement officer in accordance with the provisions of the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education Training and Standards Commission or the ability to achieve within one year of employment.
"This position is posted at the Contributing competency level. If no candidates are found at that level, candidates at a lower level may be considered. If such a candidate is hired, the salary offered will be commensurate with the applicant's competency level as well as financial resources, internal pay alignment and market considerations."
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• a valid NC Driver's License.
• The employee MUST successfully complete the 2018 NC Wildlife Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) and be able to be certified as a law enforcement officer by the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission within one year of employment.
• Demonstrate a 10th grade reading comprehension level to be sworn as a law enforcement officer in North Carolina: Never have committed or been convicted of a felony.
• Never have committed or convicted of certain misdemeanors within five years of date of application.
• Degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions
