Sportsman Channel's "Sheep Shape" Puts Training to the Test
Thursday, July 2 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT
NEW BERLIN, WI – Last week, the premiere of Sportsman Channel's Sheep Shape introduced the nation to four brave hunters, whose life challenges – cancer, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bullying and war injuries – allowed them to overcome obstacles in ways they never thought possible. This week, the "band of four" – Chad Hall, Kelsie Burford, Rick Carone and Patrick Scrogin – catch a flight to remote hunting locations to begin the first leg of their extreme high mountain hunt. Tune in to Sheep ShapeThursday, July 2 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT exclusively on Sportsman Channel.
Intense training allowed the hunters to hone in on their strengths and limitations to discover ways to adapt to any condition and terrain. But nothing prepares a hunter for a close encounter with a ram, as Scrogin experiences this week. Putting vigorous weapons and outdoors simulation training to the test, the band of four finally begin the pursuit for wild game in the remote northern reaches of Alaska, The Yukon and Northwest Territories. With their expedition underway, anything is possible in the vast expanses of land, but one thing is certain – these four hunters fear no mountain.
"There is absolutely nothing like actually getting out into the mountains," said Scrogin. "We spent months preparing; testing our mental and physical stamina and ability, and this is only the beginning. The practice, the patience – it all has to work together for a high mountain hunt to successfully come to fruition. I'm thrilled to attempt to make that happen."
