"Amazing America with Sarah Palin" Featuring Service Dogs on February 12

NEW BERLIN, WI – Loyal, intelligent and full of life, service dogs are an integral part of society. This week's episode of Amazing America with Sarah Palin features an organization near and dear to the heart of the show's host – the Puppy Jake Foundation. The Palin Family service dog, Jill, came from Puppy Jake to help in the development of the Palin's youngest child Trig.

Also featured in this week's episode is K9s4COPS. An organization based in Houston, Texas that caters to training dogs for police work. These two very special affiliations work tirelessly to provide hard-working service dogs – free of charge – to surrounding police forces, wounded veterans and others in need of extra help.

Witness a testament to true strength and hear the inspiring stories behind these organizations and those they serve on Amazing America with Sarah Palin, Thursday, February 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT exclusively on Sportsman Channel.

The four-legged animals are not only considered family members to many, but they assist with important tasks – providing comfort to wounded veterans, as well as ensuring the safety of police officers and their communities – to name a few. Field hosts Tara Conner and Jerry Carroll dive into these two stories to see what it really takes to train puppies to become fearless, service-ready comrades.

Conner visits K9s4COPS in Houston, Texas, where dogs are trained to become valued members of police forces, assisting in the removal of millions of dollars worth of contraband and providing safer communities. Next, viewers travel alongside Carroll to take a look at an organization close to the heart of the Palin Family – the Puppy Jake Foundation in Des Moines, Iowa. Puppy Jake's mission is to provide service dogs to wounded veterans and others in need, to positively impact families and countless other individuals.

"A soldier's tour of duty doesn't end when they touch back down on friendly soil," explained Palin. "Service dogs help make their transition so much smoother. And police dogs just plain help their people partners do their job more effectively. I'm lucky – I get to experience the joy a service dog brings every day, right in my own home."

Amazing America with Sarah Palin airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Sportsman Channel.
