Los Angeles, Calif. - (September 26, 2014) - The third annual "Fred Fight" is underway at the Harteis Ranch on this week's Hollywood Hunter airing on Sportsman Channel. Freddy Harteis and his dad, "Big Fred" duke it out to see who can bring home the bigger bull elk that will crown the ultimate champ. Freddy won the first year and Big Fred won last year's, but the rules have changed and it is, after all, a whole new season on the ranch. May the best Fred win.
Tune in to this very special Hollywood Hunter on Sportsman Channel Saturday, September 27 at 10 a.m. ET.
In years past, the rules have been the guys hunt together, but this year, they hunt apart and with no time limit. One rule has stayed the same - the most impressive bull elk scores bragging rights. This episode is very special to the Harteis family and it is the last time Freddy and Big Fred hunted together on film.
Big Fred is on the hunt first and this time with a crossbow due to a bum shoulder. They stake out "360 pond," called that as a 360-class bull was taken there last season. Will another monster step out of the woods for him?
Then it is Freddy's turn, but luck is eluding him - especially when he throws away a found horseshoe. "When you have a wild animal beating you up day and day out and outsmarting you at every turn - it is humbling," commented Freddy Harteis. "This started out as a competition, but really it is an excuse for dad and I to just spend some time together."
"We might joke around, but inside, we are always pulling for one another," said Fred Harteis. "I'm very proud of him."
Tune in to see which Fred finds a 362-class bull at the ranch with the widest spread any of the hunters have seen.
Don't think this is another show about an urban hunter trading a suit for camouflage. Harteis grew up hunting in Pennsylvania and was always along for the ride while his father harvested North America's most-desired big game trophies. Now, Harteis is able to showcase his family's ranch with world-class elk and mule deer episodes. Los Angeles has never seen a better advocate for this industry as he rallies new blood to learn about the hunt.

About Hollywood Hunter and Harteis Ranch:
From the glam of Hollywood to the rustic outdoors, The Hollywood Hunter follows big-game hunter Freddy Harteis and his celebrity wife, Jeannie Mai, (Fox Network's, "The Real" premiering in September) as Freddy teaches the big city what hunting can be about, a thrilling adventure that gives back. City slickers, partners, and charities join in to build lifetime memories to showcase the hunt is more about the experience. Established in 1995, the Harteis Ranch is nicknamed, "Ranch O Bella Vista," which translates into "Ranch of Beautiful Views." With 9,000 square feet with all the accommodations of an exclusive resort, the Harteis Ranch has expanded to a hunter's paradise, which includes first-class hunting cabins, a butcher shop, 30 plus ponds, over 20 miles of improved dirt roads and many other environmental considerations to improve the quality of habitat for the elk and other wildlife that call the Harteis Ranch home.
