DeerLab Launches New Trail Camera Photo Management Service

Online service for hunters adds a new dimension for tracking deer movement patterns.

Jacksonville, FL / The Outdoor Wire - For many of the 12 million active hunters in the United States, trail cameras are an indispensable tool for identifying deer or big game animals. They provide hunters with the ability to retrieve and view photos, but managing and extracting movement patterns and key data can be a cryptic chore, especially when hundreds or even thousands of photos may be captured within any given week or two.

Enter DeerLab, a new web-based trail camera photo management service that allows hunters to view, manage and analyze their trail camera photos. The first of its kind for the trail camera industry, DeerLab's mobile-friendly application focuses on simplifying photo management and analysis. The unique service aggregates a wide range of data, providing hunters of deer and big game with activity trends for individual trail cameras, as well as in-depth weather data for every photo--even if their camera only captures a timestamp.

"Managing thousands of photos from numerous trail cameras and then attempting to understand the patterns and trends of deer activity has been a daunting task for hunters." Jon Livingston, Co-founder of DeerLab.

"Our goal with DeerLab is to simplify the photo management process while extracting important deer activity trends. We compile information from all the hunter's photos, plus add additional layers of information trail cameras currently can't provide. While we can't guarantee a Pope & Young, we believe DeerLab's online tools will help hunters hunt smarter."

Avid trail camera users are encouraged to try out the system by signing up for a free 14-day trial at http://deerlab.com.

In summary, DeerLab's web-based service allows hunters and outfitters to:

  • Track hit list bucks
  • Receive deer movement trends for every trail camera
  • View detailed weather conditions for each uploaded photo
  • Filter photos by date, weather, wind directions, moon phase, named deer, etc.
  • Access photos securely from a modern browser, tablet or smart phone
  • Manage multiple properties and camera locations through satellite imagery

DeerLab is currently available in North America and the majority of Europe. Hyperlocal weather data and forecasts are available for the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland and parts of Canada. Additional areas of Canada, Australia and Europe are currently in the works.
