BOISE, ID - Cabela's, the World's Foremost Outfitter of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, will host their first annual Cabela's Campfire Award Sporting Clays Tournament on Friday, October 18th at Black Dog Clays in Boise.

The Campfire Award Program was founded on the principle of service and giving back to the communities that Cabela's are proud to be a part of. The program is designed to mirror the efforts and core values that all Cabela's Outfitters possess.

This year Cabela's Boise has selected Curtis Jaussi as their 2013 Campfire Award recipient.

On May 4, 2013, Curtis was hunting with a friend when his rifle discharged accidentally inside his backpack. The round struck him in the left knee and, after hours of valiant effort by local surgeons, Curtis lost his leg due to the severity of his injuries. Curtis and his wife Colette have three young children and Curtis owns his own business as a painting contractor.

"When we learned of Curtis's situation and the physical, emotional and financial challenges he and his family face, we were immediately moved to action," said Chris McCool, Boise Cabela's General Manager. "The Campfire Award Program is something Cabela's whole-heartedly supports and all of us here are deeply committed to."

The sporting clays event will also feature a live and silent auction, dinner, drinks and live music with all proceeds to benefit the Jaussi family. The cost of the event is $125 for individual shooters and $500 for a team of five. Your ticket includes shells, targets, Cabela's gift bag, photos and entry to the reception and dinner provided by Saint Lawrence Gridiron, voted Boise's Best Food Truck.
