INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Back 30 years ago, on September 1, 1983 to be exact, Evernham Sales Associates, Inc. was contracted to sell Savage Arms products.
Evernham's association with Savage started under very difficult conditions as Savage was essentially bankrupt at the time and Ron Coburn, in the spirit of Arthur William Savage, was just beginning to assemble a fantastically talented team to resurrect it.
This team recognized the potential of this century-old manufacturer and was simply unwilling to let it die. Every time Savage saw a little monetary success, the team reinvested it, funding the research and development required to make Savage products into what they have become today.
With that investment in R&D came innovation after innovation: the AccuTrigger(TM), the AccuStock(TM), the world's first mass produced smokeless powder muzzleloader, bolt action slug guns, target actions and target rifles capable of winning international long range competitions right out of the box! And many, many more too numerous to list.
The rest, as they say, is history.
By 2000, after 17 years of very hard, diligent work, Savage products were starting to gain real traction and in 2005 the Evernham agency was awarded Savage's "Sales Agency of the Year" as well as "Sales Rep of the Year" for Joe Barnhorn.
In 2007, our agency was awarded the "Chairman's Award for Sales". This was the first award of it's kind ever given by Savage's management team and it recognized our agency as the first in Savage history to sell $25 Million in a single year.
In 2011 another Evernham sales rep, Jay Kegley, was honored by Savage as "Rep of the Year." And in 2012, Evernham Sales Associates received its second "Chairman's Award for Sales" to commemorate annual sales in excess of $50 Million dollars.
To say we had all come a long way would be putting it mildly.
We at Evernham Sales Associates simply want to take a moment to let you and everyone in our Savage family know how profoundly grateful and humbled we all are at looking back on a true American success story and the small role we played. We are proud to have had the opportunity to help build and become a part of one of America's greatest rags-to-riches success stories and we eagerly await what the next 30 years has in store.
