Pearl River WMA Hunting Seasons Reopen

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has reopened all hunting seasons that were closed Jan. 11 on Pearl River Wildlife Management Area (WMA) due to high water levels on the river.

The Pearl River stage at Pearl River, La., has dropped below 16.5 feet and is forecast to continue falling. Old Highway 11 has been reopened as well, but Oil Well Road will remain closed until water levels recede and repairs are made.

To monitor water levels, visit the National Weather Service link at http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=lix&gage=perl1.
