Cranston, Rhode Island - SWAROVSKI OPTIK NORTH AMERICA announces a new reticle to the Z6(i) rifle scope line. The 4W reticle is a wind compensating reticle that is designed to be used in conjunction with the Ballistic Turret (BT), which will now be available in the Z6(i) model rifle scopes.
The new 4W Reticle allows the shooter, or hunter, to dial in the correct elevation needed for a shot with the Ballistic Turret (BT) system, and then be able to compensate for wind utilizing the vertical marks along the crosshair of the reticle. These marks are placed in 2 MOA (Minute of Angle) increments.
In late 2011, the 4W Reticle was introduced in our Z5 and Z3, Ballistic Turret (BT) series rifle scopes. Due to the overwhelming consumer demand for the 4W Reticle with BT system, the 4W and new 4W-I (illuminated) Reticle will now be offered in select Z6(i) BT models.
"Due to the incredible demand of the 4W Reticle with our BT turret system, SWAROVSKI OPTIK is proud to offer the 4W/BT combination in our 30 mm tube Z6(i) series. For the target shooter or hunter, the 4W Reticle with either the BT or Custom BT is the ultimate long range combination to compensate for bullet drop and wind," says Tom Hogan, Senior Technical Advisor for SWAROVSKI OPTIK NORTH AMERICA.
Wind compensation is dependent on wind velocity, wind angle, ballistic coefficients and muzzle velocities. Wind "hold-off" in MOA can be determined from two SWAROVSKI OPTIK sources: The free SWAROVSKI OPTIK Ballistic Program app for I-Phones and Androids-Wind MOA calculations can be made in the field with current conditions. The SWAROVSKI OPTIK Ballistic Program is also available at our website WWW.SWAROVSKIOPTIK.COM.
