Richard Lipsey Receives Golden Deeds Award

Richard A. Lipsey, Chairman of Lipsey's in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has been chosen to receive the coveted Golden Deeds Award for 2011. This award was a front page announcement in the Baton Rouge Advocate this morning. This yearly award is presented to one outstanding individual for lifetime leadership and accomplishments in the field of charitable, civic and philanthropic achievement.

Lipsey has been extremely involved in charitable and civic affairs in Louisiana for over 45 years serving on many boards including having been president of the local Boy Scout Council, the Baton Rouge Rotary Club, the state and local Ducks Unlimited chapters, the United Way, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, the LSU Tiger Athletic Foundation and numerous other organizations. He is very involved with Louisiana State University currently serving on the Business School board, Co-chair of the School of the Coast and Environment, the boards of the Tiger Athletic Foundation and the Ole War Skule. He also is a past two term president and current board member of the National Association or Sporting Goods Wholesalers and a current member of the board of the National Sports Shooting Foundation.
