Joe Cermele Named Fishing Editor at Field & Stream

New York, NY-Joe Cermele has been named Fishing editor of Field & Stream magazine. Anthony Licata, Editor of Field & Stream, announced the appointment.

Cermele takes the post following the move of longtime Fishing editor John Merwin to editor-at-large. Merwin joined Field & Stream as a contributing editor in 1995, and became Fishing editor in 2004. As editor-at-large, he will continue to pen the popular "Honest Angler" blog onfieldandstream.com as well as contribute features to the magazine.

Widely recognized as one of the top anglers and fishing experts in the world, John Merwin is also the founder and former editor of Fly Rod & Reel and Fly-Tackle Dealer magazines, as well as a former editor of Fly Fisherman. He served for several years as the executive director of the American Museum of Fly Fishing and has authored more than 15 books on fishing.

"A generation of anglers has relied on John Merwin's advice and expertise every month, and we salute his extraordinary contributions to the magazine," said Licata. "We can't imagine a better person to take over this important role than Joe Cermele. Joe's expertise on the water and passion for adventure have already earned him a following among our readers, and we're thrilled to have him in this position."
