Falcon Rods Adds Spinning Reels to Lines

BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -Falcon, known for its fishing rods, has introduced two precision-made spinning reel series -- Falcon Volt and Falcon Moxie -- each with more ball bearings that set new standards for smooth performance.

Falcon's new Volt brands the high-end series of three models -- 1000, 2000 and 2500 -- retailing for less than $80. Volt 2000 and 2500 models have 11 ball bearings; the 1000 model has nine. The new Falcon Moxie comes in three models -- 500, 1000 and 2000 -- each with eight ball bearings. Moxie retails for less than $40.

Falcon Volt and Falcon Moxie set a new standard in their class for spinning reel smoothness," said Chris Beckwith, Vice President of Marketing. "More ball bearings equals smoothness. Also, Falcon Volt and Falcon Moxie have precision-made CNC computer-machined aluminum components and spools, not cast aluminum or plastic."

Both Falcon Volt and Falcon Moxie have a new line management system -- Falcon Cross Match™ -- for longer casts. The system helps eliminate line twist to prevent tangles common with braided fishing line. Both models were designed with instant anti-reverse handles - called Falcon Posi-Drive™ -- for quick-reaction hook-sets.

The top of the line Falcon Volt includes these features and more. Falcon Power Stop™ drag stops big fish before they break off on structure. Falcon Precision Balance™ stops rotor-wobble. Falcon Magnum Drive™ features a more-durable gear system to withstand repeated hard use on the water. Falcon Volt is sold with a spare aluminum spool, not a plastic spool, so anglers can quickly switch to a different fishing line.

High-end performance and value
Beckwith said Falcon made the decision to expand into the fishing reel industry after conversations with bass and crappie competitors and tackle retailers.

"Our pros told us new tournament techniques are best accomplished with spinning reels," Beckwith said. "Very importantly, serious bass anglers need a low-twist spinning reel to make low-trajectory, lure-skipping casts under shady docks and overhanging branches. Retailers told us their angler-customers now insist on quiet, smooth spinning reels under $100. Now, with Volt and Moxie, there are two more high-performance, high-value products for the serious angler. That's what we do at Falcon."

Beckwith said the addition of fishing reels to its line marks a new, exciting new era for the Broken Arrow, OK company. "We are pumped and poised to become the American company that becomes the primary supplier of quality rods, reels and tackle storage systems to American anglers," he said.

Since its founding Falcon has been known primarily as the manufacturer of graphite fishing rods for fresh and saltwater use. At ICAST 2010 it introduced Cara Micro, trend setting casting rods with split grips and 12 or more Fuji Alconite Micro Guides for longer casts and heightened line-to-hand hook set sensitivity.

Falcon's spinning and casting rod series also include Falcon BuCoo, Falcon Coastal, Falcon LowRider, Falcon HD, Falcon Original and Falcon Cara T7.

In recent years Falcon also has become a major player in tackle storage systems with its series of Falcon FTO tackle organizers that organize spinner-baits, crankbaits, hooks and sinkers, hard lures, soft plastics lures, reels and line.
