Deadline Aug. 29 to Have Artwork Submitted
All artists are invited to enter their artwork in the 44th annual Waterfowl Stamp Design Contest, but the clock is ticking. Artwork must arrive at the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation headquarters in Oklahoma City by 4:30 p.m. Aug. 29.
The winning artwork will become the design for the 2026-27 Oklahoma Waterfowl Stamp, which is sold to state waterfowl hunters and stamp collectors nationwide. The winning artist will receive a $1,200 purchase award. Revenue from duck stamp sales is used to fund Wildlife Department waterfowl conservation efforts across the state.
This year’s selected subject is the canvasback, one of the larger diving duck species that migrates through Oklahoma each fall and winter.
If you are an artist (or know of one who would like to enter), why not get creative with us? Entrants are not required to be Oklahoma residents. To register, click here.
After the entry period closes Aug. 31, public voting will take place on the Department’s website and will figure in the final judging. A judging panel of waterfowl experts will then consider each artwork in terms of anatomical accuracy, artistic composition and suitability for printing before the winner is selected.
