Road Work to Start at Intersection of US 93 and Montibello Lane

New fishing access site to be developed on Flathead Lake near Dayton

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP), in partnership with the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and C3 Energy Partners, will begin a highway widening project to install a left-hand turn lane on US Highway 93.

The project is located just north of Dayton at the intersection with Montibello Lane at mile marker 84.

Proposed work includes widening of the roadway, asphalt pavement on widened sections, centerline rumblestrips, seal and cover, striping and signage. The purpose of this project is to widen the highway, construct a left-hand turn lane at the intersection of US 93 and Montibello Lane, and reconstruct the existing Montibello Lane approach to accommodate increased traffic entering the forthcoming Conclow Fishing Access Site (FAS).

Work is scheduled to begin the week of Aug. 4 and continue through the month of August, weather and unforeseen factors permitting. Crews will be working Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Expect two-way traffic, reduced speeds, and traffic lights, with minimal delays for construction vehicles to cross the highway when travelling through the project area. Follow all posted signage and watch for workers. For the most up-to-date information, visit 511mt.net.

Following the highway project, construction is scheduled to begin on the new Conclow FAS, formerly known as Montebello FAS, in fall.
