Williamsburg, KY – The Blackhawk Archers of Custer, Wisconsin hosted the first Indoor target regional tournament of the 2023 competition season for Wisconsin S3DA. The Blackhawk Archers are a member of the National Field Archery Association (NFAA) and the Wisconsin Archery Alliance (WAA) and they support youth organizations such as the La Crosse County 4H Shooting Sports, Kicking Bear, S3DA and many more! Blackhawk Archers was founded on the fundamentals of fellowship, family, and sportsmanship. Twenty-eight archers representing eleven S3DA teams came out to participate in the kick-off event!
Wisconsin S3DA State Coordinator, Scott Fuchs said, “This event was a great way to kick off the Wisconsin S3DA Indoor season. Friendships among archers from different teams were rekindled and first-time competitors left the range confident. BlackHawk Archers hosted a well-run event, I’m looking forward to returning.”
S3DA parent, Joey Witt said, “The Blackhawk Archers Indoor Regional was the first S3DA event that we have attended. This was my son’s first ever archery tournament. He shot his personal best score and had a blast. It was great to see all the different age groups competing together in one sport. Everyone at the event was helpful and made our family feel welcome. My son is typically nervous and uneasy in large crowds but from the time we arrived till we left; he was very comfortable. I would like to thank Blazin’ Arrows Coach Greg Potts for helping us at the event and putting the extra effort into helping my son the last couple of weeks. Coach Potts and his daughter have had a huge influence on my son, Carson. I am very thankful for the opportunities that have been made available to my son through S3DA. We look forward to attending the next archery shoot.”
“We are very grateful for the chance to host our first S3DA event. It was a great turnout both in the number of shooters we had and spectators that came out to cheer on the archers. We are very grateful for the help Scott, Sarah, and Jim provided us. Without a doubt, we couldn’t have done it without them. Speaking of help, we had some parents drive their archers 185 miles to come participate in our archery shoot and some that were shooting for their first time. Anytime you get to the end of the day with a smile on your face and knowledge you have learned along the way, you can say it has been a tremendous day,” stated BlackHawk Archers Coach, Rick Reynolds.
