MidwayUSA Foundation Hosts Hometown Challenge Shoot & Sweepstakes

Columbia, MO –Throughout the month of July, anyone interested in benefiting youth shooting sports can take part in the MidwayUSA Foundation’s 2021 Hometown Challenge. This shoot and sweepstakes allows the entire shooting community to compete on a national stage, right from their hometown range. Everyone that participates is entered into a sweepstakes with over 100 prizes! Plus, every entry submitted doubles as a donation to the MidwayUSA Foundation endowment of the participant's choice and will be matched by the Foundation’s current Matching Program.

MidwayUSA Foundation Executive Director G. Scott Reynolds is excited to offer this annual event. “Everyone wins in our Hometown Challenge Shoot and Sweepstakes and it’s exciting to have it back! Not only is this fun event a great way to raise endowment funds but it also provides a way for the entire community to collaborate. Youth shooting athletes and coaches are able to really connect with community members of all ages either through a competition hosted at their local range or just by offering supporters the chance to win a great prize in the sweepstakes.”

The 2021 Hometown Challenge shoot welcomes all ages and features ten different shooting disciplines. Shooting categories include international air rifle, 3-position air rifle, international air pistol, trap, skeet, prone smallbore rifle, 3-position smallbore rifle, SASP rimfire pistol, SASP rimfire rifle, and an open discipline fun shoot. The open event allows participants to enter scores for any shooting category not included, such as sporting clays, steel challenge, etc.

The sweepstakes portion of this event allows supporters to get involved without competing in the shoot. A variety of prizes, including firearms, ammo, gear, optics, and more, will be awarded at the conclusion of the event. G. Scott Reynolds praised event sponsors, “Our industry sponsors have really stepped up to donate quality prizes that will make Hometown Challenge a success. The prizes offered are items everyone would be thrilled to win!”

Registration for Hometown Challenge is now open at https://www.midwayusafoundation.org/htc/. Each entry is $20 and, again, is a donation to a MidwayUSA Foundation endowment. Those interested must enter by July 31, 2021 and participants wishing to compete in the national shooting competition must submit scores online by August 13, 2021.

Shooting programs and ranges wishing to promote the 2021 Hometown Challenge are encouraged to download logos and flyers on the MidwayUSA Foundation website. In addition, participants can post and share photos from their local range on social media. Additional details can be found by visiting https://www.midwayusafoundation.org/htc/.
