Stealthy, warm and quiet gear is perfect for late season bowhunters
CHARLESTON, SC. – Nomad Outdoor released the newest, updated version of its popular late-season bowhunting gear system, Cottonwood VX3.
Designed for maximum warmth for long sits in the stand during late season hunts, Cottonwood VX3 is a full system of base layers, pants and jacket, and also includes matching flip mitts and cold weather cap. Except for the base layers, all other pieces of Cottonwood VX3 gear are in the classic Mossy Oak Bottomland pattern.
“Late season bowhunting requires patience and stealth,” said Nomad Outdoor marketing director Mike Tussey.” “Cottonwood VX3 keeps you warm on the coldest days and helps you wait longer for that monster buck to appear.”
The Cottonwood VX3 base layer includes both an HD Crew long sleeve shirt and HD leggings.
Both are made of heavy, high pile fleece combined with high-stretch brushed fleece for mobility.
The warmest base layer Nomad Outdoor offers, Cottonwood VX3 is not only soft, but also very quiet, and won’t make any noise when you shift position or draw a bow. Both wrists and ankles are tapered for easy fit underneath other clothing. The HD crew and HD leggings come in Overland Trek tan and retail for $100 each.
The Cottonwood VX3 pants are also made of high pile Berber fleece and have a windproof inner membrane to shut out the fiercest winter winds. An outer DWR treatment easily sheds light rain or wet snow. Extra 4-way-stretch panels in the legs allow unhindered movement to help you execute that perfect broadside shot.
Zip-to-hip openings make it easy to put on over boots, and the fleece-lined hand and cargo pockets keep your fingers from going numb and your gear dry and ready. Ever-adjust waistband is comfortable all day long while being quiet when you move.
Available in Mossy Oak Bottomland, Cottonwood VX3 pants retail for $300.
The Cottonwood VX3 jacket is made of the same high pile Berber fleece and gives the same 4-way-stretch panels for quiet, easy movement, especially when drawing a bow. The jacket also has the same windproof inner membrane and outer DWR treatment to resist water.
A full-length diagonal zip across the front gives access to a fleece lined kangaroo pocket to keep your hands warm and your gear ready. The flip-up hood is read to provide an extra layer of warmth and protection.
A high collar helps shut out wind, cold and even sleet or snow. An integrated harness port helps keep you safely tethered in the stand. The Cottonwood VX3 jacket retails for $300.
The Cottonwood VX3 flip mitts have high pile fleece with a matt silicone palm for gripping a bow, knife handle or other objects. Adjustable wrist straps help cinch out cold and magnetic closers keep mitten sections out of the way when you flip them back. Beneath the flip-mitt are warm finger coverings that expose fingertips for total control when it’s time to shoot.
Cottonwood VX3 flip mitts retail for $55 a pair.
The Cottonwood VX3 cap helps retain body heat and protect against wintery conditions with a windproof liner and soft Berber fleece material. An adjustable strap on the back lets the wearer customize the fit, and ear flaps fold down for extra protection.
Available in Mossy Oak Bottomland, the Cottonwood VX3 cap retails for $55.
