EDGEFIELD, S.C. — Nearly 200 people attended the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation’s second annual South Carolina Southern Sporting Clays Classic fundraiser last week at the National Wild Turkey Federation’s Palmetto Shooting Complex.

“We are really proud to have the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation back here at the Palmetto Shooting Complex,” said Becky Humphries, NWTF CEO. “Through their efforts in D.C. and on the state levels, they are working to protect our hunting, shooting and outdoor rights across the country. Their work is critical to preserving the lifestyle we believe in.”

Shotgunners were able to enjoy shooting a round of sporting clays, as well as an evening of food, fellowship and fundraising at the facility.

In showing their support for the CSF, several legislators from South Carolina and Georgia made appearances during the festivities.

 “Events like this fundraiser are a great opportunity to expose folks to shooting sports,” said Bill Heath, Georgia state senator and National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses president. “The CSF is working for us every day with legislators in D.C., the Governors Sportsmen’s Caucus and state legislators to help preserve our right to hunt, fish and trap and enjoy the outdoors.”

“Today, we had a team from Newberry Middle School out there having a good time, respecting firearms and also respecting the great outdoors,” said Brian White, South Carolina state representative and NASC vice president. “It is great to have partners like the NWTF and the Palmetto Shooting Complex.”

In addition to hosting the event at its Palmetto Shooting Complex, the National Wild Turkey Federation joined more than 50 businesses and organizations to sponsor the event.
