ATHENS, GA — The Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) and Kalkomey Enterprises, LLC have partnered to deliver the Today’s Hunter Deer 101 course, the first-ever online course of its kind, developed to teach prospective deer hunters everything they need to know to be safe and successful.
“Learning how to become a deer hunter can be intimidating, especially if you don’t have a mentor,” said QDMA CEO Brian Murphy. “Our goal is to provide the information and guidance to make the learning process as easy as possible. While information on deer hunting is available in many places, much of it is dated, inaccurate or unreliable; that’s why we developed this course. Everything we do here at QDMA is based on the latest research, so new hunters can rest assured this course features the best information available today.”
The Today’s Hunter Deer 101 course includes 15 chapters and covers deer biology and behavior, hunting methods, shot placement, field care of venison and much more. Topics are supported with text, photographs, graphics and videos in an engaging and educational format.
Kalkomey Enterprises, LLC, parent company of Today’s Hunter, is the leading provider of state-approved online hunter safety training in North America, certifying hunter and bowhunter education students across the country.
“Through our partnership with QDMA, we’re able to deliver a reputable program that provides the ‘next-step’ information our students are craving,” said Mitch Strobl, Kalkomey VP of Agency Relations. “We’ve launched this course in an effort to support the collective R3 movement by streamlining access to trustworthy information. Students can access this information on their own time from the comfort of their own home. It’s our hope that the course will not only equip them to hit the field with confidence but will also serve as a stepping stone toward attending other QDMA or state-run workshops to further expand their skills.”
The course is available to anyone wanting to learn more about deer hunting. For more information or to register for the course, go to https://www.todayshunter.com/deer101/.
