The legion of Larry Correia fans has spoken, propelling the New York Times best-selling author’s latest series, American Paladin, to meet its Kickstarter launch goal in a mere 45 seconds. Closing one month later in mid-October just shy of $300,000 raised, the campaign—sponsored by Correia’s publisher, Ark Press—became a testament not only to Second Amendment advocate Correia’s continuing popularity, but hunger for unfiltered, hard-hitting storytelling that defies trendy political correctness in fiction.
“We feel that Ark Press has tapped into the demand for bold, authentic storytelling that resonates with readers who want the good stuff they used to get from reading a great story, and none of the extra baggage and cultural handwringing you find in so much contemporary fiction,” says Ark Press Editor in Chief Tony Daniel. “Larry is a gifted teller of tales. His stuff can be gruesome, but it’s also frequently funny, and, boy, does he get the weapons right!”
Daniel adds that Ark is charging ahead with a bold lineup of upcoming releases from fearless authors like Correia and hopes to stoke an American revolution in fiction among readers, especially male readers.
“It’s a return to the basics of telling a great story, something publishers used to live and breathe back in the 70s, 80s, even the 90s,” says Daniel.
In the coming months, Ark Press is set to deliver more pulse-pounding, values-driven content that breaks the mold and gives readers exhilarating stories in the genres of science fiction, mystery-thrillers, adventure, and more. Readers are encouraged to sign up and join the ride.
