Wild Card Brands Launches World’s First Hunting and Fishing Card Games

Wild Card Brands has officially launched the world’s first hunting and fishing playing card game. Born from the minds of co-creators Clifton Mosteller and Brett Loper back in 1999, the very first version was played using raggedy, old playing cards they found lying around the camp house while in between hunts. Fast forward two decades and full scale production, players can now choose from two specially designed decks, one where players hunt for whitetail deer, and the other has them fishing for bass.

“We have been talking about launching the game since we invented a version of it nearly 20 years ago,” says Clifton Mosteller, co-creator of Wild Card. He goes on to say, “We always thought it was a perfect balance of fun, simplicity, and strategy, such that it would appeal to 7 year-olds, college students, adults, and grandparents alike. Everything you need to play is included in the deck.”

The object of the game is simple: choose the correct hunting or fishing area and collect the biggest deer or bass cards before your friends do…but you better watch out! Getting caught without a license or trespassing on private property will cost you. The decks also include special Wild Cards that can be used to help you bag that big buck or land that lunker bass.

As all outdoorsmen know, a lot of things can go wrong on a hunt or fishing trip. The truck won’t start, the moon isn’t right, you’re downwind, or maybe the weather is just plain lousy. This same sentiment is carried right over into the game in the form of the “Ain’t Got Jack” card. Just like a missed shot on a deer, or a snapped line on that huge bass you’ve been fighting…in the end, you ain’t got jack. Draw this card and lose all deer, bass, or wild cards you’ve collected along the way.

The goal of Wild Card is to bring kids, friends, and family back to the table for face-to-face interaction and fun. In the ever-growing digital age, Wild Card offers the perfect getaway, allowing players to unplug and recharge with that long-missed and sought after outdoor element.

Great ideas never die, so some 20 years later, the guys are finally ready to deliver two first-of-their-kind card games the whole family can enjoy.
